April 25, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 10800 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 10:45 p.m. on Sunday (April 24).

The identity of the male victim, 30, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Bibb reported:

The driver (victim) of a maroon Chevrolet Impala was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on the freeway service road at the above address when he side-swiped a red Chevrolet Camaro. The impact caused the Impala to lose control and flip over. The driver of the Impala was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The female driver, 20, of the Camaro remained at the scene, was questioned and released. She did not show signs of intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.
