September 22, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 2901 Blodgett Street about 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday (September 21).  

The suspect, Naeem David Adbullah (b/m, 39), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court.  A booking photo of Adbullah is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Gardener and E. Wohlgemuth reported:  

The victim and Adbullah got into a verbal altercation during which Adbullah pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by HFD paramedics.  

Adbullah was taken into custody at the scene and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.  At this time, the department does not believe there is a continuous threat to the general public.
