September 17, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 14100 Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) about 3:30 a.m. today (Sept. 17).

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Best reported:

Witnesses stated the victim was driving a silver Nissan Altima at a high rate of speed southbound on the freeway at the above address when her vehicle left the roadway and struck the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane concrete pillar.  The Nissan caught on fire.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced the female deceased.

The investigation is continuing.
