September 07, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7000 North Wayside Drive about 4:50 a.m. on Monday (September 6).  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer E. Rubio reported: 

The victim was driving a silver Chevrolet Impala northbound near the above address when it left the roadway, jumped a curb and struck a large tree in the esplanade.  The driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
