Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 910 Green Meadow Lane
October 29, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 910 Green Meadow Lane about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 28).
The suspect, Roderick Cortez Jackson (b/m, 59), is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Jackson is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Perez and J. Escobar reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call to a residence at the above address. Upon arrival, the officers were advised the shooting happened inside the home and the victim and suspect were still inside. Officers were able to make contact with Jackson and he came out of the residence without incident. They then entered the home and located the victim unresponsive in a hallway. Paramedics were called and pronounced the man deceased. Jackson was detained, questioned and then booked into jail for his role in the shooting.
At this time, the department does not believe there is a continuing threat to the general public.
