October 26, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5500 Sunbeam Street about 7:25 p.m. on Monday (October 25).  

The identity of the female victim, 60, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Clark and Officer N. Luu reported:  

A silver Toyota Camry was traveling westbound near the above address when a bicyclist rode into the street in front of the vehicle.  The Toyota then struck the victim, who was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The male driver, 44, of the Toyota remained at the scene and did not exhibit signs of intoxication.  He was questioned and released.  

A preliminary investigation indicated the area was poorly lit and the victim emerged from a wooded area.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
