October 14, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9601 West Montgomery Road that occurred about 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday (October 13).  

The identity of the female victim, 6, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer M. Burton reported:  

The victim was in her apartment complex at the above address and attempted to cross the street - not in a crosswalk - when she was struck by a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling eastbound on West Montgomery Road toward the apartment complex entrance.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the child to Texas Children's Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.   

The driver of the pickup truck, who remained at the scene, was evaluated and determined not to be impaired.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
