October 13, 2021 - Houston police have learned the victim critically injured in a crash at 9600 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 10:40 p.m. on October 5 has died.

The victim, Cynthia Alvarado, 43, was pronounced deceased on October 12.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and South Gessner Division patrol officers reported:

Ms. Alvarado was reported to have run onto the freeway at the above address when she was struck by a black Lexus LS.  Alvarado was transported to an area hospital where she later died.  The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and was questioned and released.  He did not show signs of intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.
