October 11, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7523 Long Point Road about 11:20 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 9).

The victim, Gilbert Aguilar, 42, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and D. Crandall reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting in a business parking lot at the above address and found Mr. Aguilar with a gunshot wound to the neck.  Witnesses stated Aguilar was in his wheelchair when a gray, four-door sedan began driving by and a passenger in the vehicle yelled something to Aguilar.  The suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, then began to fire gunshots at Aguilar.  As the suspects fled the area south on Woodvine, one or more of them fired more gunshots into the air.  Paramedics transported Aguilar to the hospital.
