Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 6611 Myrtle Street
November 15, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 6611 Myrtle Street about 8 a.m. on November 10.
The suspect, Alexander Joel Gonzalez (H/m 20), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the shooting of his brother, Christian Gonzalez, 22, who was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Otero and J. Wright reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Christopher Gonzalez with a gunshot wound to the foot. Paramedics transported Gonzalez to the hospital. Patrol officers recovered a shotgun at the scene.
Further investigation indicated Christian Gonzalez became aggravated when asking for money for narcotics while at the residence. His brother, Alexander Gonzalez, exited the residence with a shotgun and fired a single shot into the ground to scare Christopher, who refused to leave. While holding the shotgun, Alexander chased his brother around a parked vehicle and then fired a second shot into the ground. Christopher was struck in the foot. Paramedics transported Christian to the hospital.
Alexander Gonzalez was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
