November 05, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3200 Jensen Drive about 2 a.m. on October 27.  

The suspect, Jonathan Smith (b/m, 39), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Joseph Shelvin, 62.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Higgs and K. Fregia reported:  

Mr. Shelvin was shot by a suspect while at the above address.  He was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  At that time, there was no known suspect description.  

Further investigation and evidence developed information that identified Smith as the suspect in this case.  Smith was arrested on Thursday (November 4) and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
