March 17, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7103 1/2 Helmers Street about 3 a.m. on Tuesday (March 16).

The victim, Raul Lopez, 28, was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer C. Bowling reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and found Mr. Lopez suffering from a gunshot wound.  Before Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to the hospital, Lopez told officers he had been shot by a male known to him.

There are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.
