March 15, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9100 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610) about 2:10 a.m. on Saturday (March 13).

The identity of the male victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer K. Hines reported:

The victim was driving a black BMW 2 Series at a high rate of speed eastbound on the freeway at the above address when he lost control and crashed into a guardrail.  Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.  A male passenger, 31, was transported to a hospital in stable condition. 

Investigators learned the driver and passenger were drinking prior to the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
