Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 11298 Bissonnet Street
March 12, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 11298 Bissonnet Street about 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday (March 10).
The suspect, Sadis Alonzo Martinez-Ortez (H/m, 26), is charged with murder and aggravated assault of a family member in the 180th State District Court. A booking photo of Martinez-Ortez is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants S. Jimenez and M. Arrington reported:
Officers were dispatched to a stabbing call in a parking lot at the above address and were advised that Houston Fire Department paramedics had transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers located a witness who stated the victim and suspect got into an argument before the suspect chased after the victim and stabbed him several times.
During the investigation, it was determined the suspect used a knife to assault another individual, causing minor injuries. Through a search of the immediate area, the suspect (Martinez-Ortez) was soon located, arrested and subsequently charged in the case.
