Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 9900 Buffalo Speedway
June 14, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 9900 Buffalo Speedway about 1:30 p.m. last Friday (June 11).
The suspect, Kiara Kay Taylor (b/f, 24), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 183rd State District Court. She is not in custody. A 2016 booking photo of Taylor is attached to this news release.
The victim, Kameron D. Johnson, 23, was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Wiltz reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and learned Mr. Johnson had been shot by his girlfriend's ex-partner (Taylor). A preliminary investigation indicated Johnson saw Taylor following them and he attempted to get away, but got caught at a traffic light at the 610 South Loop and Buffalo Speedway. Taylor exited her vehicle armed with a gun and approached the driver's side of his vehicle. She then fired at least twice through the door, striking Johnson in the left arm.
Taylor fled the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Johnson to the hospital.
