Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5101 Yale Street
July 20, 2021 - The fatal shooting of a man at 5101 Yale Street about 4:40 p.m. on Monday (July 19) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the man, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a convenience store parking lot at the above address. Upon arrival, they found the suspected shooter and took him into custody without incident.
Officers learned the shooter and another man had argued inside the store. The shooter then left the store, with the other man following him. Claiming self defense, the shooter fired multiple shots at the other man, who was subsequently transported by paramedics to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The shooter remained at the scene for responding officers.
Currently, there are no charges in this incident.
