July 19, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3700 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) about 10:15 p.m. last Friday (July 16).

The identity of the male victim, 26, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer G. Anderson reported:

The victim was driving a black Mitsubishi Eclipse eastbound at the above address when he experienced a flat tire.  He stopped in a moving lane of traffic and exited his vehicle.  The man was subsequently struck on the freeway by a maroon Lincoln MK 5. 

The male driver, 34, of the Lincoln remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released without charges at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
