July 19, 2021 - Houston police have learned a woman critically injured in a hit-and-run crash at 5300 Fulton Street about 10:15 p.m. on July 7 has died.

The victim, Sandra Kozak, 81, was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center on Sunday (July 18).

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Jewell reported:

Ms. Kozak was driving a silver Hyundai Santa Fe westbound on English Street.  According to a witness, Kozak entered the Fulton Street intersection with the green light and was struck by a gold-colored Toyota Camry traveling at a high rate of speed while running a red light.  The driver of the Camry fled the scene on foot without stopping to render aid.

Kozak was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Toyota remains at large.
