July 19, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a juvenile male at 3800 Wipprecht Street about 3:45 p.m. last Friday (July 16).

The suspect, Kinite Reece Stanley (b/m, 72), is charged with injury to a child and felon in possession of a weapon in the 208th State District Court. 

A booking photo of Stanley is not being released at this time, pending further investigation in this case.

The victim, 13, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Barker and M. Combs reported:

Stanley dropped a loaded and unsecured firearm on the ground of a parking lot at the above address.  It discharged and struck the victim in the hip.  Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.  Stanley was subsequently arrested and charged for his role in the incident.
