Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 2701 Elmside Drive
July 9, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 2701 Elmside Drive about 6:50 p.m. on Thursday (July 8).
The suspect, Aymara Fernandez-Fajardo (H/f, 33), is charged with aggravated assault on a family member in the 179th State District Court. She is accused in the shooting of Jose Gonzalez, 38, who was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer A. Golden reported:
Mr. Gonzalez and Fernandez-Fajardo, who are in a dating relationship, got into an argument while at the above address. Gonzalez took Fernandez-Fajardo's cellphone and went to his vehicle. Fernandez-Fajardo followed Gonzalez to his vehicle and attempted to get her phone back. Gonzalez then threw her phone into the street. Fernandez-Fajardo then reached into Gonzalez's vehicle to grab his cell phone and a struggle ensued. Fernandez-Fajardo managed to grab Gonzalez's gun, located in his front waistband area and pulled the trigger, shooting him in the lower abdomen.
Houston Fire Department paramedic transported Gonzalez to the hospital. Fernandez-Fajardo was taken into custody and subsequently charged for her role in the shooting.
