Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8130 Kirby Drive
July 06, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 8130 Kirby Drive about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 3).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective D. Stark reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of a grocery store at the above address and found the victim lying in front of the store. He had a gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
Further investigation and witness statements determined the victim was walking and appeared to have bumped into a black Dodge Challenger as it was passing the front of the store. The driver of the Challenger exited his vehicle and confronted the victim. At some point during the argument, the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot the victim. The suspect, described only as a black male, got back into his vehicle and fled the scene.
