Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4840 Jarmese Street

January 19, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 4840 Jarmese Street about 2 p.m. on Monday (January 18).  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Crowder and A. Vingradov reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found a male with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

According to witnesses, the victim was shot in the back of the head while with friends.  It is possible the weapon accidentally discharged while being handled.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
