February 25, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 9601 West Montgomery Road about 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 24).

The victim, Jurard Glenn, 25, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Rivera reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting at the apartment complex at the above address and were advised by Mr. Glenn that he was shot by an unknown person as he was leaving his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.  Paramedics transported Glenn to the hospital.

Glenn's girlfriend told investigators that she and Glenn got into a verbal altercation that escalated when Glenn assaulted her.  The woman stated that when Glenn aggressively approached the suspect, her current boyfriend, he shot Glenn.

The suspect, 21, stated that after hearing a physical altercation occurring between his girlfriend and Glenn, he knocked on the apartment door.  At that time, the suspect said that Glenn approached him with an unknown object he believed to be a gun.  The boyfriend says he discharged his weapon at Glenn and struck him one time in the abdomen.

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
