Investigation into Assault at 4705 Texas Avenue

February 23, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the assault of a man at 4705 Texas Avenue about 9 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 22).

The victim, Roberto Guajardo, 63, was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers C. Bowling and L. Kauffman reported:

Mr. Guajardo and a male known only as “Chava” are living at the above address, a dilapidated site currently under construction.  A witness stated that "Chava" knocked Guajardo to the ground and then struck him in the face with a hammer.  The suspect ("Chava") left the scene before officers arrived.  Paramedics transported Guajardo to the hospital.
