Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12000 Almeda Road
February 20, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12000 Almeda Road about 9:10 a.m. today.
The identity of the male victim, 42, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer T. La reported:
The driver of a tan Chevrolet Captiva was traveling southbound near the above address, failed to stay in a single lane and veered into the northbound lanes. The Captiva then struck a Chevrolet Cavalier traveling in the northbound lanes of Almeda Road. The driver of the Cavalier was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The female driver, 63, of the Captiva, was transported to an area hospital with two broken legs. There were no other persons in either vehicle.
No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
