December 31, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13300 Almeda Road about 8:40 p.m. on Thursday (December 30).  

The identity of the deceased male, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Hroch and Officer J. Best reported:  

A black Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound at the above address when the vehicle struck a male pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.  

The male driver, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.  A preliminary investigation indicated the driver was not at-fault in the crash. 

The investigation is continuing.
