Suspect Arrested, Charged in August Fatal Shooting at 3000 Brazos Street
December 8, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3000 Brazos Street about 3 p.m. on August 11.
The suspect, Richard Terrell Davis (b/m, 21), is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. A booking photo of Davis is attached to this news release.
Davis is charged in the death of Mathew Pietrzak, 21.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Pietrzak lying unresponsive in the roadway. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Pietrzak to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
According to witnesses, Pietrzak got into an altercation with two unknown males, which led to the shooting.
The suspects, described only as two black males, then fled in a waiting gray sedan believed to be driven by another male.
Further investigation led to the identification of Davis as a suspect in this case and, on Sunday (December 5), he was arrested and charged for his role in Pietrzak's death.
