Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12300 East Freeway
December 6, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12300 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 11:05 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 4).
The identity of the female victim, 56, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer T. La reported:
A white Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on the East Freeway and took the exit ramp to merge onto the service road. The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to collect some hand tools that dropped from the vehicle she was traveling. The woman jogged from a nearby parking lot and into a moving lane of traffic on the service road when she was struck by the Ford.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The male driver, 29, of the Ford stopped, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.

Bonnie Sandberg is a senior trainer at the Learning and Development Center-the Center for Excellence. While her main focus is technology training, she also enjoys training on other skills. She has been with the city of Houston since May 18, 1998. Bonnie holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Technology with Business Education as her emphasis from University of Houston. Bonnie is very active in her church in Humble and has served on the district and conference levels in United Methodist Women. Bonnie enjoys reading and reads mostly Christian novels. Bonnie and her husband have two daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren.
