April 26, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 11000 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) that occurred about 10:50 a.m. today.

The victim, Alis Varela, 31, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective A. Johnson reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and learned Mr. Varela was shot during a road rage incident where an unknown suspect fired multiple shots at Varela's vehicle.  Paramedics transported Varela to the hospital.

The suspect is described only as a black male driving a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
