October 23, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 4200 Spring Valley Road that occurred about 4:25 p.m. on Thursday (October 22).  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer S. Le reported:  

The driver of a silver Volkswagen Atlas was traveling westbound in the 9600 block of Clay Road, made a left turn to go southbound on Spring Valley Road and struck the victim in the roadway.  Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

The driver of the Volkswagen, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.  

A preliminary investigation indicated the victim failed to yield the right of way to the Volkswagen.  The investigation is continuing.
