October 19, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13100 Kimberley Lane about 7 a.m. today.  

The identity of the female victim, 70, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Gaona reported: 
  
The female driver of a white Volvo XC90 was traveling westbound at the above address when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle hit the southside curb several times and then left the roadway.  Two pedestrians saw the vehicle and, as they attempted to get out of the way, one of the pedestrians ran into the path of the vehicle and was struck.  Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  

The female driver, 37, was detained at the scene.  She was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released, pending further investigation.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
