Traffic Incident at 8900 Eastex Freeway

August 15, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8900 Eastex Freeway northbound on August 15, 2005 about 5:45 a.m.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant J.T. Roberts and Officer M. Potell and R. Saenz reported:

A black Ford Focus was traveling northbound on US 59 (Eastex Freeway) when it struck an 18-wheeler that had slowed down for traffic. The driver of the Ford Focus exited his vehicle and walked to the side of the roadway. A silver Dodge Neon stopped behind the Focus and attempted to go around the accident, when he was struck from the rear by a Red Pontiac Grand Prix. The driver of the Neon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation into Shooting at 12100 Troulon Drive

March 17, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 12100 Troulon Drive about 3 p.m. on Tuesday (March 17).

The victim, Anthony Mendez, 31, was transported to an area hospital where doctors stated he is expected to recover.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Barker and J. Kimbrough reported:

Mr. Mendez got into an altercation with a suspect, who had his vehicle parked in the driveway of Mendez's duplex at the above address. When Mendez, armed with a taser, approached the suspect, the suspect pulled a gun and shot Mendez.

The suspect, known only as "Drae," fled the scene in a dark blue, four-door vehicle. Paramedics transported Mendez to the hospital.
