Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3400 Gulf Freeway
June 22, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 3400 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday (June 20).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer J. Campbell reported:
Officers responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian crash on the service road at the above address and learned the suspect driver had fled the scene.
Witnesses stated a gray Chevrolet car struck the victim, a pedestrian, who was crossing the service road, not in a crosswalk. The occupants of the Chevrolet got out of their car, checked the vehicle for damage, and then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
