Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9300 West Loop South
June 22, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 9300 West Loop South (West Interstate 610 South) service road about 5:35 a.m. on Saturday (June 20).
The identity of the male victim, 64, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Nguyen reported:
The victim was riding a bicycle eastbound on North Braeswood Boulevard at the West Loop service road when he was struck by a vehicle. It is unknown if the victim was on the roadway or the sidewalk at the time of the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to witnesses, a small black SUV was traveling southbound on the West Loop South service road when the driver struck the victim and then fled the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
