July 13, 2020 - A woman critically injured in a crash at 12200 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 10:20 a.m. on June 28 has died from her injuries.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where, on Friday (July 10), doctors pronounced her deceased.  Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer M. Ramos reported:

The victim was driving a white Mercedes sedan that was disabled in the westbound main lanes of the highway at the above address.  An 18-wheeler struck the Mercedes and pushed it into a concrete divider, critically injuring the woman.

The driver of the wheeler was not injured.  He was examined by an HPD DWI Task Force officer, showed no signs of intoxication, and released without charges.  

The investigation is continuing.
