Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault at 6 Burress Street
July 6, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the assault of a man at 6 Burress Street about 5:50 p.m. last Thursday (July 2).
The suspect, Katrina Washington (b/f, 43), is charged with assault -bodily injury of a family member in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Washington is attached to this news release.
The victim, Stephen Roberts, 59, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Cimeni reported:
A witness stated he was outside his apartment when he heard Mr. Roberts and an unknown suspect, later identified as Williams, having an argument. Shortly after, the witness saw Williams strike Roberts in the back of the head, causing him to fall to the ground. Williams fled the scene but was located and detained by responding officers.
Roberts told police he got into an argument with Williams, who then assaulted him, causing injuries to the back of his head. Paramedics transported Roberts to the hospital. Williams was subsequently charged for her role in the incident.
