Investigation into Fatal Incident at 4512 Steffani Lane
January 27, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal explosion that killed two men at 4512 Steffani Lane about 4:30 a.m. on Friday (January 24).
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Officers J. Young and T. Jackson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to an explosion at Watson Grinding and Manufacturing at the above address. Upon arrival they observed the building to be destroyed. Both victims, believed to be employees of the business, were found deceased.
The investigation is being conducted with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), as well as the Houston Police Department Major Offender's Division, the Houston Fire Department Arson Division, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
