Investigation into Shooting at 5311 Beverly Hill Street
January 23, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 5311 Beverly Hill Street about 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 22).
The victim, Shereen Miller, 30, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Cimeni reported:
Witnesses observed a possible burglary occurring in one of the apartments at the above address and contacted the leasing office. Ms. Miller and another female office staff member went to the apartment to check on the incident. When Miller opened the door to the apartment, an unknown black male suspect fired several shots at both women. Miller was struck in her lower back. She managed to run back to the leasing office, where medical aid was rendered and 911 was called. The suspect fled the scene. Paramedics arrived and transported Miller to a hospital.
The other female victim, who ran following the gunfire, was not struck in the incident.
