Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6200 Gulf Freeway
February 3, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6200 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 6:20 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 2).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer A. Mares reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a white Kia Optima travelling northbound on the freeway.
Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The female driver stopped, showed no signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released with no charges filed.
The investigation is continuing.
