December 3, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental shooting of a man at 15155 Richmond Avenue about 9 p.m. on Wednesday (December 2).  

The identity of the victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective D. Higgs reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment at the above address and found the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

Further investigation and witness interviews indicated the shooting appeared to be accidental.  No charges have been filed at this time.
