Update: Composite Sketches of Suspects Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 700 North Loop West
December 3, 2020 - Houston police have released composite sketches of two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 700 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) service road that occurred about 10:20 p.m. on Sunday (November 29).
The suspects are described only as one Hispanic male in his 20s with a thin build, and one black male in his 20s with a slightly heavy build. Composite sketches of both suspects are attached to this news release. .
The victim, Isaac Mendoza, 21, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives N. Sharp and K. Fregia reported:
Mr. Mendoza was shot while sitting in the driver's seat of his Dodge Charger at the above address. According to a witness, who was sitting in the passenger seat, an unknown suspect in a neighboring vehicle fired shots at them, striking Mendoza. The witness, who was not injured, returned fire as the suspect(s) fled, but it has not been determined if anyone in the suspect vehicle was struck.
Mendoza's vehicle veered off the freeway and came to a stop on the service road. Mendoza was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The witness remained at the scene and spoke with HPD investigators.
The suspects fled the scene in a burgundy Chrysler 300.
