Suspect Charged in Shooting Incident at 5200 block of Tronewood Street
August 28, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect involved in a shooting incident that occurred in the 5200 block of Tronewood Street about 4:25 p.m. on Thursday (August 27).
The suspect, Julian Guzman (H/m, 36), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court. A booking photo of Guzman, who is hospitalized, is not available at this time.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers Z. Brumley and M. Althaus reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 9101 Heatherside Street and were advised a male (suspect Guzman) had been transported in a private car to an area hospital. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the groin and was in stable condition.
Further investigation revealed Guzman had driven to a male's house on Tronewood Street, got out of his car and fired multiple shots at the male. The male was uninjured. Guzman fled in his car and stopped at the intersection of Heatherside and Tronewood. There, he fired his gun out the window of the car at a group of males standing at the intersection. Guzman then stopped his vehicle and the males standing at the intersection were able to get the gun away from Guzman. The males then shot Guzman one time. Guzman returned to his residence at Heatherside and was transported to the hospital. The males who shot Guzman fled the scene.
Guzman was charged for his role in the shooting on Tronewood Street.
