Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7500 Long Point Road
August 10, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7500 Long Point Road about 6:20 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 8).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer D. Jones reported:
The victim was operating a black Honda motorcycle at a high rate of speed westbound at the above address when a green Kia Soul traveling eastbound made a left turn onto Woodvine Drive, in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle skidded to avoid striking the Kia and the victim layed down the bike. The motorcyclist fell to the ground and was incapacitated. At that time, a white Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound on Long Point partially ran over the motorcyclist. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing as to whether the fall from the motorcycle or the vehicle caused the victim's death. The drivers of the Kia and the Chevrolet showed no signs of intoxication. No charges have been filed at this time.
