Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6800 Fondren Road
October 16, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6800 Fondren Road about 10:10 a.m. today.
The identity of the female victim, 86, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer A. Hart-Joseph reported:
The driver of a black Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on Fondren Road at the above address, with a green light, and turned westbound onto Bellaire Boulevard. There, the vehicle struck the victim, a pedestrian, crossing northbound in the crosswalk. Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The driver remained at the scene and was questioned.
At this time, no charges have been filed in the crash, pending further investigation.
