Investigation into Fatal Crash at 14698 Northwest Freeway
May 20, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 14698 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road about 11:40 a.m. today (May 20).
The female victim, 79, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:
According to witnesses, the driver of a white water truck was traveling westbound on the service road of the above address and ran a red light at the intersection of North Gessner Road. The truck struck a silver GMC Sierra traveling northbound on North Gessner that had just entered the intersection with a green light. The Sierra was then pushed into a gold Toyota Avalon traveling southbound on North Gessner.
All three drivers and a passenger (victim) in the Sierra were transported to area hospitals.
Currently, there are no charges in this case, as the investigation is continuing.
