Investigation into Fatal Crash at 14799 Katy Freeway
May 17, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 14799 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 6 a.m. today (May 17).
The identity of the male victim, 36, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Best reported:
The victim was driving a black Lexus LS250 northbound on State Highway 6 and ran the red light at the intersection of the Katy Freeway service road. The victim then struck a white International tractor-trailer. The victim, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was evaluated at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication.
