Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10800 North Freeway
March 11, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10800 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 2:25 a.m. on Saturday (March 9).
The identity of the male victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Crisler reported:
A red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the North Freeway service road, failed to stay in a single lane and drove up onto the sidewalk. The pickup truck struck an electrical box and swerved back onto the roadway. The truck then crossed all lanes of the service road, struck a curb and rolled over. The victim and another man in the truck were partially ejected.
The victim died at the scene. A second victim, 25, was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center in serious condition.
The investigation is continuing.
