Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 501 Greens Road
June 27, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a juvenile male at 501 Greens Road #605 about 8:45 p.m. on June 20.
The suspect, Marco Jason Ruiz (H/m, 17), is charged with manslaughter, burglary to commit aggravated assault and tampering/fabricating evidence in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of Ruiz is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Lamont, R. Moss and E. May reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address. Upon arrival, they found the victim deceased, lying on the apartment patio. Witnessed reported seeing Ruiz flee the scene and enter another apartment in the same complex. Officers took Ruiz into custody without incident and, following an interview with HPD Homicide Division detectives, he was charged in this case.
