Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10000 North Freeway
June 25, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10000 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 11:50 p.m. on Monday (June 24).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer J. Baker reported:
The victim was driving a silver Toyota Corolla northbound on the North Freeway when his vehicle became disabled in a moving lane of traffic. When the victim got out of his vehicle to check on it, he and his vehicle were struck from behind by a black Nissan Rogue. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The female driver of the Nissan was questioned, did not show signs of intoxication and was released. A female passenger in the Nissan was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening burns to her body.
The investigation is continuing.
