Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7500 Mesa Drive
June 3, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 7500 Mesa Drive about 7 a.m. on Saturday (June 1).
The male victim, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Nguyen reported:
The victim was operating a red Suzuki GSX motorcycle southbound at the above address when he struck a white van. The van's driver had just left a private drive and cut across both southbound lanes of traffic in an attempt to make a u-turn and travel northbound. The van's driver failed to stop and render and instead fled the scene.
